Letho

Letho was born on May 7, 2006 at cattery Eldoria. Letho is a La Perm without curls. This was very special because his brothers and sisters did have curls as is appropriate for a La Perm.

 

When he was about half a year old, I got Letho as a present for my 16th birthday. From the moment Letho came into my life, he was "my" cat. We had an incredibly close bond - I was as much his as he was mine. When I moved in with my husband (then boyfriend), Letho was pretty much the first thing to move with me.

Letho was a beautiful appearance with his beautiful red color and semi-long coat, and although he could be shy he was incredibly loyal and sweet once he had accepted you as "his person". He was incredibly tolerant towards our children, we could not have wished for a better friend for them.

Letho was also incredibly intelligent and nocturnal. It didn't matter how we fenced off the garden to keep the cats in. Letho always found a way out. He paraded through the street like a king, and knew how to charm many people. But our place of residence at the time was not known as cat-friendly...

His seniority and minor health problems hardly limited him in his daily life. Yet that day came: In the autumn of 2020, Letho was outside getting some fresh air, as he did every day. Unfortunately, he did not come home that evening, nor the next evening - nor any evening after that. Repeated thorough searches and a missing person report to Amivedi were to no avail. We never saw Letho again.

We still often wonder what happened to him. Did he choose to breathe his last breath in a secluded place? Did someone take him in? Did an accident happen or worse, did someone deliberately do something to him? We will never know and that, together with the loss of our feline friend, still causes us a lot of pain and sadness. We still miss him terribly.
