Loki

My name is Loki, and I am a neutered house cat born in 2021. My owners had only recently moved when they heard from the neighbors that one of their cats had given birth in the stable. When they came for a maternity visit, I used all my charm and they immediately fell in love. When I was old enough, I was allowed to come home. I was still quite small, and I found life in the house with so many people quite exciting. Fortunately, my owners were used to more cats and kittens and coaxed me out of my shell.

It took some getting used to, without my brothers and sisters as peers and playmates. I had to make do with the older cats, and they didn't have as much energy as I did. As a kitten I was very naughty and playful and always busy and moving. My presence finally brought out the youth in the other - together we ran around the room and up and down the stairs. I am now an adult cat, and wisdom and peace come with age.

 

As a domestic cat, I am a bit of a mix of all kinds of breeds mixed together. I've grown quite big too - surprising, considering I was born as a farm cat! I have developed a real tom nose and a fat tail. As if it is in my genes as a born farm cat, I prefer to wander around outside. In the large backyard, but also at the neighbors and even across the road. My owner doesn't like that, because we live on a busy road, but I am an adventurer and push the boundaries. And everyone in the neighborhood appreciates my presence, because I'm a great detective when it comes to catching mice. My owners sometimes see me walking around with 3 mice a day.

 

I sometimes find visitors a bit scary, so I usually keep my distance. But my owners are great, and they love me too. I really enjoy being petted, and if I feel like it I will come and tell you that too. I don't lie on my lap, but I don't mind being picked up. You can hold me in your arms like a baby, I secretly like that and then I just hang there. Not having to do anything for a while also feels good.

I know exactly when it is bedtime for the child owners, then I wait at the door until they go upstairs. But if it takes too long, I will go upstairs and lie on their bed as a foot warmer until they crawl into bed themselves. We grew up together, and we sleep together too.
